He is Able!

When the children of Israel were delivered out of Egypt, God deliberately positioned them at the edge of the Red Sea with the Egyptian army in hot pursuit behind them (Exodus 14). The Israelites had no way to fight and nowhere to run. Have you ever felt like you were in that position? The odds are stacked against you and you see no way of escape. Your circumstances are beyond your control and you see nothing but death and destruction for your future. Before God does the impossible and parts the Red Sea in front of us, to provide a way of escape, He often allows all of man’s efforts to be completely exhausted before showing His hand of power and love to His children (and to their enemies!).

One of my all-time favorite passages in the Bible is 2 Chronicles 20 - the powerful story of how God fought for His children when they couldn’t fight for themselves. God, Himself, fought for them and gave them the spoils of war! All the Children of Israel had to do was take their position and worship Him. I encourage you to read that chapter and be encouraged! When you stand firm in your position (hidden in Christ and standing on the promises of His Word) God will fight for you in ways that will blow your mind. And He never does it the same way twice. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous, victorious right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I AM the LORD Your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do no fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid…for I myself will help you,” declares the Holy One of Israel.” (Isaiah 41:10-14)

Your story isn’t over yet. In fact, this may be just the beginning! He is able!
